Medcorder Stories: Staying Connected, Even When Distanced

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Medcorder users have been adapting to new circumstances. Here we share Donna’s experience using the platform for her medical care.
Donna’s Story
Donna Eddy began recording her post-cancer care appointments to collaborate with her daughter. She discovered Medcorder after searching for tools that would provide both recordings and transcripts of her consultations. As a retired nurse, she valued being able to read through medical recommendations carefully.
The app proved intuitive to use, especially with her doctor’s willingness to be recorded. Donna noted that reviewing recordings revealed nuances: “Sometimes what I thought I knew about what the doctor said was different, so going back through the recording and transcript answers my questions.”
When transitioning to telemedicine due to the pandemic, Donna developed a practical setup using two devices — an iPad for the video call and her phone running Medcorder for audio capture. She positioned her phone’s microphone near the tablet while seated on the floor.
The resulting recording was “clear and audible, and the transcription came out great too.” Her daughter accessed the content through Medcorder’s chat feature before Donna could even notify her.
Donna prefers telemedicine appointments over driving three hours for brief fifteen-minute visits. She plans to use Medcorder for all future appointments to help her and her daughter better understand her health status and treatment options.
