Our Story
When David Weekly's father was diagnosed with cancer, the family faced a challenge familiar to millions: keeping everyone informed about rapidly changing medical information while scattered across the country.
David's father began recording his doctor's appointments on his phone, and David would manually transcribe them so siblings, cousins, and extended family could follow along. It worked — but barely. Critical details were lost in the telephone game of relaying medical information from one family member to the next.
That experience planted the seed for Medcorder: a single platform where patients and their families can record appointments, read transcripts, and communicate about care — all in one place. No more missed medication names, forgotten follow-up dates, or garbled instructions passed through a chain of well-meaning relatives.
David left Google to build Medcorder full-time, drawing on his background in product development at Google and Facebook and his Stanford computer science training. The goal was simple: give patients and families the tools to stay on top of their health conversations.
